We are a youth led charity that has been part of Blackburn since 2014. We back young people aged 10 to 25 through sport, mentoring and employability support, and we work with families and the wider community to make it stick.
Our story
FAM began life as part of FACE, Family and Community Enterprise, a charity active in Blackburn since 2014. For over a decade we have worked with families and communities across the town, and one thing has always stood out: when young people get the right backing at the right time, everything changes. That is why we became FAM. We took everything we had learnt and put young people at the centre of it.

Helping every young person in our community feel supported, believed in, and ready for what’s next. Everything we do is about opening doors and building confidence for brighter futures.

Youth led, and proud of it
Youth led is not a slogan for us. Young people help design our sessions, give honest feedback on what works, and step up as young leaders and volunteers as they grow with us. Many of the people running our sessions first walked through the door as participants.
Where we work
Our home is Blackburn. We deliver in neighbourhoods including Little Harwood, Bastwell, Shear Brow, Whitebirk and Roe Lee, and from our base at Central Buildings in the town centre. As we grow, our ambition is to reach more young people across Lancashire.
